Journal Goals
The journal Društveni horizonti aims to promote and disseminate high-quality research in the field of social sciences, with special emphasis on interdisciplinary approach, critical thinking and social relevance. The journal strives to:
- encourage open exchange of knowledge and research findings in the spirit of open science (Open Science);
- publish original, peer-reviewed scientific papers, review articles, case studies and professional reviews;
- improve scientific and professional communication among researchers, practitioners and decision makers;
- empower the research community in the region and spread international visibility of authors;
- promote high ethical standards in research, publishing and peer review practice;
- enable direct, free and global access to all published content, without embargo and without registration.
The journal is fully open access and does not charge publication fees (APC).
Scope of Activity
Društveni horizonti is an interdisciplinary journal that covers a wide range of topics from the field of social sciences, including (but not limited to):
- economics and sustainable social development,
- communication studies, media and cultural studies,
- sociology and social policies,
- political science and public policies,
- educational sciences and educational policy,
- community management and civil society,
- issues of equality, inclusion and citizen participation,
- contemporary challenges: digitalization, migration, climate change, globalization.
The journal encourages the submission of papers dealing with theoretical and applied research, as well as those that combine qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Special emphasis is placed on research with potential for shaping public policies, educational reforms and social innovations.
All papers submitted to the journal Društveni horizonti undergo strict peer review, in order to ensure scientific relevance, methodological correctness and academic ethics.
